Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are the answers to some of the
Frequently Asked Questions we receive concerning Website creation, hosting and graphic design.
Website Design and Hosting:
- Q: Before
approaching you to create a Website, do I have to submit in writing all
the details of everything that I want to include on my site?
A:
No. If you have a brochure, publicity materials, internal
correspondence and other documents, we can most likely use these
documents and information as a basis for your Website.
- Q: How
much will it cost to register a domain name, design a simple Website, and then get that site hosted on the Internet?
A: The annual fee for domain name
registration is approximately CDN $20, depending upon the type of domain selected.
- Web hosting through Verity Graphics currently costs $235 on an annual basis (or a bit more if paid quarterly.)
- Website design costs will vary widely, in accordance with your needs and
the complexity of your site. We charge $60 per hour for Web design and upkeep. For design of a simple site of several pages, $300 would be a typical starting point. We would be happy to provide you with a more complete
estimate, once we have discussed your requirements. Heavily
graphic-intensive sites are more expensive than sites whose content is
primarily text, with only a few images.
Graphic Design:
- Q:
I have a concert coming up for which I want
you to design a poster. Can you also get my job printed for me?
A:
Yes, we have relationships with several
different printers and copy houses. (You would be surprised how
cost-efficient we can be when producing full-colour 8.5" x 11" posters in
quantities of 100 to 300 copies.)
- Q: I wish
to advertise an event in two Toronto newspapers. Can you make one ad,
adapt it to the varying column widths of the two newspapers, and submit
the ad directly to the newspapers on my behalf?
A: Yes, we already provide
that service to a number of our clients.
